I've been looking forward to spending a couple days on the campus of Huron University College. I'll be speaking briefly about the role of absence and solitude in a liberal arts education. This year Huron chose The End of Absence as the Huron1Read book, which means freshman and faculty read the book as a kind of conversation/bonding exercise. So the big fun for me will be the chance to discuss the issues in The End of Absence with so many students and faculty all in a packed couple of days. Such an enormous gift for any author.
