I love the editing stage--I really do. There's something deeply satisfying about taking a book-length work and devoting months to polishing the prose. And I'm enough of a geek that puzzling over the back-cover blurb is engaging as a NYT crossword. Happy to report, then: my upcoming work of non-fiction, Solitude, has arrived at the editing stage. Currently doing the back-and-forth thing with brilliant editors at Doubleday (Canada), Random House (UK), and Thomas Dunne (USA). The finished book will be available April 2017.
